Linux Survival(TM) is designed for people who have little or no experience with the Linux operating system. Even though Linux has hundreds of commands, there are only about a dozen which you need to know to perform most basic tasks, and these are the commands we will teach you in the first and second modules. These modules are intended as a quick way to get started using Linux, so that you can immediately become more productive. Modules 3 and 4 cover more sophisticated concepts and commands which you will find useful when you have more experience with Linux. To make the course material more interesting and effective, you will be led through an imaginary scenario where you will have particular goals to meet. So the material will make more sense if you go through it from beginning to end, rather than by skipping around.
